This white ceramic cup was thrown on the wheel. The total height is just under four inches. The width is about three and a half inches wide. The opening at the top is about three inches wide.
It is glazed in a white opaque glaze that when fired results in a thick satin finish with iron speckles. Two areas on the outside are left bare to reveal the texture and color of the iron in the clay. The interior is fully glazed with a speckled blue glaze.
This is a fun cup for hot tea, whiskey, or just about anything. The opening at the neck is about three inches wide with a little indent at the middle, making it perfect for for a good grip.
The color and luminosity of this glaze is really difficult to capture in a photo. Color is light, so please understand that white may appear beige, gray, or blue in some circumstances.
